BIO

Dr. Thomas Ungar is a Professor at the University of Toronto's Department of Psychiatry. He is also a Senior Research Consultant for the Structural Stigma Research Team which is in partnership with the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Dr. Ungar is currently an Active Staff Psychiatrist at North York General Hospital and has previously held the position of Chief of Psychiatry. He has also practiced at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, both as an Active Staff Psychiatrist and Psychiatrist-in-Chief.

Dr. Ungar graduated with his MD from the University of Toronto in 1987 and also holds a MEd from the aforementioned. His areas of expertise include mental health education, health innovation and design, mental health quality of care, and mental health stigma.
