BIO
Karen Mundy is a Professor of International and Comparative Education in the Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, cross-appointed to the Munk School of Global and Public Affairs). She is a leading expert on education in the developing world, educational policy, planning and leadership, and the role of international organizations in education. She is a former president of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES); and served as the Chief Technical Officer of the Global Partnership for Education (2014-2018) and the Director of the UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP - 2021-2022). Professor Mundy is a two time winner of the Bereday Award for best paper in the Comparative Education Review, and recently served as a Commissioner on the UNESCO Futures of Education Commission.
