BIO
Sali A. Tagliamonte is a Canadian linguist. Her main area of research is the field of language variation and change. Professor Tagliamonte has been a professor at the University of Toronto since 2001. She has served as Undergraduate Co-ordinator, Graduate Co-ordinator and most recently as Chair of the Department of Linguistics from 2018-2023. Professor Tagliamonte is also an Honorary Visiting Professor in the Department of Language and Linguistic Science at the University of York. She is an elected member of the Royal Society of Canada, a Linguistics Society of American Fellow and a Canada Research Chair in Language Variation and Change. She is currently Acting Principal of University College at the University of Toronto.
