BIO

Professor Michele Peterson-Badali, Associate Dean, Research, International & Innovation of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, is an international scholar, widely respected for her research on children’s and adolescents’ knowledge, reasoning, perceptions, and experiences of the youth justice system, their understanding of rights, and their evolving legal capacities. A professor in the Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development, Dr. Peterson-Badali teaches in the areas of child psychological assessment, professional ethics, and children and the law. She supervises graduate students whose research examines mental health and justice system involvement, effective assessment and intervention with justice system-involved youth, and Indigenous youth justice.
