BIO
Historian of 19th- and 20th-century architecture. Clarke has been an architecture commentator on podcasts, radio shows, and CBC national television news, and has written for the Globe and Mail, Aeon, Triple Canopy, and Frieze, in addition to many scholarly journals. He is the author of Echo’s Chambers: Architecture and the Idea of Acoustic Space, an award-winning history of architectural acoustics. Before becoming a historian, he was trained as a designer and practiced architecture at Eisenman Architects and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.
