BIO

Dr. Bonnie Kirsh, Ph.D., is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. She is a licensed occupational therapist in Ontario, Canada. She has also addressed issues related to community integration for people with mental illness and those who are homeless. Her research has been funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, the Mental Health Commission of Canada, the Ontario Ministry of Health, and the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board. She was an invited member of the Mental Health Commission of Canada’s Workforce Advisory Committee as well as the Mental Health Commission’s Opening Minds project, the largest anti-stigma initiative in Canada. She was awarded the Muriel Driver Lectureship in 2015 and the Temerty Faculty of Medicine Dean’s Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022.
