BIO
Ka Tat Tsang is a psychotherapist, social worker, group counsellor, trainer, organizational development consultant, writer, and media professional. He joined the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work in 1993 as a professor and has been exploring the development of human service in a globalized context. He holds the former title of the Factor-Inwentash Chair of Social Work in the Global Community (2008-2018).
Tsang created the Multiple Contingencies Management (MCM) approach to psychotherapy, which helps practitioners deal with the increasingly diverse and complicated challenges of contemporary clinical practice. He also has developed the SSLD (Strategies and Skills Learning and Development) system which enables clients to deal with situations in life and realize their desired goals more effectively through learning and developing strategies and skills.
He currently directs the Faculty’s China project, which he started in 1997; he is also working with colleagues at the University of Toronto, to develop an alternative approach to cross-cultural practice, called the Integrative Cross-Cultural Psychotherapy (ICCP) Model.
