Professor Brent Berry is a social demographer who teaches and studies population, health, and urban sociology. He is currently researching the marginalization of inexpensive, small, and movable homes, and patterns of strategic ignorance and plausible deniability in cover-ups. Berry is known for using innovative measures and methods in his research. He has published on a variety of topics, including immigrants in cities, segregation, homelessness, causes of sedentary lifestyles, food marketing aimed at children, obstacles in race and ethnic relations, and housing attainment. He is also interested in household formation and housing choice. His research has been supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
