BIO
Dr. Camelia Karimianpour is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics. She received her PhD from the University of Ottawa under the supervision of Monica Nevins and Hadi Salmasian with a thesis titled “The Stonevon Neumann construction in branching rules and minimal degree problems.” Professor Karimianpour was a post-doctoral Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the University of Michigan between 2016 to 2019. She was appointed to the University of Toronto in 2019.
Professor Karimianpour is interested in representation theory, applications of algebraic structures in engineering, machine learning, and cryptography, as well as mathematics education.
