BIO

Dr. Lorello is a staff anesthesiologist at Toronto Western Hospital - University Health Network. He has held various important positions, including being the first Director of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion for the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee at the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society. Currently, Dr. Lorello is a Clinician-Educator at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the 2SLGBTQIA+ Health Theme Lead for the MD Program at the University of Toronto. Additionally, he is a cross-appointed researcher at the Wilson Centre and an Adjunct Scientist at the Women’s College Research Institute. Currently, he is enrolled as a Health Professions Education Research PhD candidate at the Institute of Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation at the University of Toronto, where he is studying critical social theory at the Wilson Centre. Through his research, Dr. Lorello is starting to illuminate and describe ruling relations that organize sex and gender minority physicians while taking an intersectional lens.
