BIO

Mihnea Moldoveanu is the Desautels Professor of Integrative Thinking, Professor of Economic Analysis and Policy and the Director of Desautels Centre for Integrative Thinking. He is also Founder and Academic Director of RotmanDigital, Founder and Academic Director of the Self Development Lab and Founder and Academic Director of the Leadership Development Lab at the Rotman School.  He joined Rotman in 1999 and jointly developed the concept of Integrative Thinking with Roger Martin. He is the author of nine books, including Soft Skills: How to See, Measure and Develop the Skills that Make us Uniquely Human (DeGruyter, 2024), The Future of Executive Development (Stanford, 2021; co-authored with Das Narayandas), Inside Man: The Discipline of Modeling Human Ways of Being (Stanford, 2011), The Future of the MBA (Oxford, 2008; co-authored with Roger Martin), and Epinets: The Epistemic Structure and Dynamics of Social Networks (Stanford, 2014; co-authored with Joel Baum). He has written over 100 articles and book chapters on the algorithmic structure and computational dynamics of human problem solving and social reasoning, the interactive and social epistemology of human groups, and the inferential and dialogical capabilities of humans and Large Language Models.  He has had parallel careers as an entrepreneur and academic: Mihnea is the founder and past CEO and CTO of Redline Communications, Inc., a leading manufacturer of wireless broadband telecommunications equipment (IPO: 2006; London; 2007, TSX) and Hefaistos, Inc., developer of one of the world's first ADSL modems and the first software-defined broadband wireline modem and of the world's first Digital Audio Broadcasting transmitter. In 2008, he received Canada’s “Top 40 Under 40” award for his contributions to academia and business.
