BIO

Jennifer Lake, PharmD, PhD is the new Academic Lead for Interprofessional Education at Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, and a full-time Assistant Professor - Teaching Stream. She builds on her recent PhD and post-doctoral fellowship which evaluated how evaluating how interprofessional healthcare providers work in primary care teams to improve patient access, experiences and outcomes. Her work focuses on how individuals and organizations work together to deliver excellent outcomes and experiences for patients. She will take her extensive clinical, education, and research to support pharmacy students, and other students at the University of Toronto to collaborate and work as a team for patients and their wider communities.

She has been teaching at Faculty of Medicine since 2016 and was recently appointed as the Program Lead for Pharmacology/Pharmacotherapy Theme for the MD program in 2018. Her role in Medicine is across the entire four year program and encompasses curriculum development, delivery, and assessment.

Her research and educational interests are collaborative learning, applied learning, integrated care models, pharmacy practice and primary care. Currently she is working on several projects about pharmacist practice in primary care including policy analysis and innovative practice changes.

She obtained her BSc(Pharm) from Dalhousie, a hospital pharmacy residency from University of Toronto and her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from University of Toronto in 2007. She has worked across all types of pharmacy settings including primary care, ambulatory, and hospital.
