BIO
Linda Johnston, PhD, FEANS, FAAN, FCAHS, is appointed as Vice President, University of Toronto Scarborough and is Dean & Professor of the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing. She is internationally recognized for her contributions to nursing and patient care. She is an Honorary Professor at the University of Melbourne, Visiting Professor at Soochow University (China) and an Honorary Professor at the University of Hong Kong.
Professor Johnston was founder and chair of the Australian Collaboration of Neonatal Nurse Researchers; she has been an important contributor to the European Academy of Nursing Science; and served as editor of the Neonatal, Paediatric and Child Health Nursing journal.
She has been particularly influential in bringing evidence-based practice and education to the nursing profession, and her leadership in international nursing education has been significant.
Professor Johnston is a Fellow of the European Academy of Nursing Science, of the American Academy of Nursing, and of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences.
