Dr. Carmen Logie joined the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work in 2013 as an Assistant Professor and is currently a Full Professor. She is an Adjunct Scientist at Women’s College Research Institute, Adjunct Professor at the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment & Health, and a Research Scientist at the Centre for Gender & Sexual Health Equity. She is a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Global Health Equity and Social Justice with Marginalized Populations.

Dr. Logie’s research program advances understanding of, and develops interventions to address, stigma and other social ecological factors associated with HIV and STI prevention and care. She is particularly interested in understanding and addressing intersectional stigma and its sexual, reproductive, and mental health impacts, with a focus on HIV and STI.

She has been awarded funding from funders including the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), CIHR Clinical Trials Network, Social Sciences & Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), Grand Challenges Canada, Canada Research Chairs, New Frontiers Research Fund, and Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI), to lead global research focused on sexual health and rights. Her latest book, “Working with Excluded Populations in HIV: Hard to Reach or Out of Sight?” was published in 2021 by Springer. Her co-edited book “LGBT Mental Health: International Perspectives and Experiences” was published in October 2019 by the American Psychological Association.

She has published 250 articles and is cited more than 10,000 times. She hosts a podcast, Everybody Hates Me: Let's Talk About Stigma, with >16,000 downloads you can find everywhere podcasts can be found.
