Eva-Lynn Jagoe is a Professor in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese and Centre for Comparative Literature. Her areas of teaching and research are critical and cultural theory, environmental humanities, politics, film, literature, and visual art. She has written extensively on Latin American culture, and continue to work in that area, mostly in contemporary visual art, cinema, and literature. She constantly seeks to understand interactions and influences that are not limited by national boundaries, and disseminates her research through creative non-fiction and hybrid prose, as well as more traditional academic writing.

Professor Jagoe’s first book, The End of the World as They Knew It: Writing Experiences of the Argentine South (Bucknell UP, 2008), examines representations of the South in Argentine and English texts from the nineteenth century to the present, arguing that the narration of this space is formative in the shaping of a collective memory and history of Argentina. Her recent book, Take Her, She’s Yours (Punctum Books, 2019), explores theoretical notions of psychoanalysis, subjectivity and feminism through an experiential first-person narrative. Her next book project is on Spanish history, memory, and climate change.
