BIO
Dr. Tasca Santimano is an Assistant Professor (Teaching Stream) in the Department of Earth Sciences. She obtained her B.Sc. from the University of Toronto, her M.Sc. from McMaster University, and her Doctor rerum naturalium from Freie Universität Berlin.
Dr. Santimano's research focuses on lithospheric scale deformation particularly the kinematics of orogenic processes. Some of her publications include 'The Influence of Lithospheric Mantle Scars and Rheology on Intraplate Deformation and Orogenesis: Insights From Tectonic Analog Models', 'Sandbox rheometry: Co-evolution of stress and strain in Riedel– and Critical Wedge–experiments', and 'Fault-slip inversions: Their importance in terms of strain, heterogeneity, and kinematics of brittle deformation'.
