Professor Kenneth S. Corts is the inaugural Vice-President, People, Finance & Digital Services at the University of Toronto, where he leads core administrative functions that support the University’s success and impact all members of the U of T community. These functions span finance, information technology and security, human resources, and labour relations with unions and non-represented employee groups.  

Prior to his appointment as VP, PFDS, Professor Corts held several leadership positions at the University of Toronto, including Acting Vice-President, Operations and Acting Vice-Provost, Academic Operations; Academic Lead of Policy and Sustainable Finance at the Lawson Climate Institute; and Interim Dean at the Rotman School of Management, where he serves as a professor of Economic Analysis and Policy and holds the Desautels Chair in Entrepreneurship. His research in the areas of industrial organization, competition policy, organizational economics, and energy policy has appeared in leading academic journals including the Rand Journal of Economics, the Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization, and the Journal of Law and Economics as well as the Journal of Industrial Economics, which he edited from 2005 to 2010. It has also earned recognition from the National Science Foundation, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and led to visiting appointments at UC-Berkeley; UCLA; INSEAD; and IESE Business School. 

In addition to his significant academic contributions, Professor Corts has provided expert testimony in competition policy cases before the Competition Tribunal and the Ontario Superior Court and consulted on antitrust matters in the United States. He received his PhD in Economics from Princeton University.
